"The Wackness" actress Mary-Kate Olsen is tapped to star on teen romance movie "Beastly", following the footsteps of Vanessa Hudgenswho has been chosen to become the film's leading actress. Additionally,CBS Films also picks Alex Pettyfer, who previously worked on "Alex Rider: Operation Stormbreaker", to be one of the actors.

In April, Vanessa Hudgens was confirmed to star as Linda Owens, who isdescribed as "not beautiful, bearing red hair, green eyes and crookedteeth" fair maiden. Emily Browning and Jamie Chung will also join heron the movie, which is scheduled to be filmed in Montreal on June 13.

Set in modern-day New York City, "Beastly" is adapted from Alex Flinn'sfantasy novel with the same title and inspired by famous fairytale"Beauty and the Beast". On the movie, Olsen will portray KendraHilferty, a witch who put a curse on Pettyfer's Kyle Kingsbury, who isphysically transformed into everything he hates.

Daniel Barnz is appointed to be the director and Roz Weisberg will beco-producing the film. Then, Susan Cartsonis will produce it throughher Storefront Films shingle. The flick itself is scheduled to hit U.S.theaters on July 30, 2010.
